Paris and London want to drag NATO into war — Medvedev — EADaily, March 16th, 2025 — Politics, Russia

NATO countries France and the United Kingdom want to provide military assistance to Kiev, despite the fact that Russia opposes the presence of alliance troops on the Ukraine. This was stated in the social network X by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

“(French President Emmanuel) Macron and (British Prime Minister Cyrus) The Starmers pretend to be idiots. Every time they are told that peacekeepers must be from non-NATO countries. No, we (France and Great Britain. — EADaily) we will send tens of thousands — just admit it — you want to give military aid to neo-Nazis in Kiev. This means a war with NATO,” Medvedev writes.

The deputy chairman recommended that the “scoundrels” consult with US President Donald Trump.

As reported by EADaily, European countries can send their military to Ukraine as peacekeepers and instructors without the consent of Russia. This was stated in an interview with the Parisien newspaper by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Recall, any plan for a peaceful settlement on Ukraine needs cooperation with the United States. This was stated at a press conference following talks with the Coalition of the Willing by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, The Guardian reported.

Plans for Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire with Russia should include cooperation with the United States, Starmer stressed.

According to him, the meeting participants agreed that military planners will meet again in the UK this week to develop practical plans for how the armed forces of the “coalition” can support the future security of Ukraine.
